THE JOLLY ROGERS
One of Munich's first crews (besides The Funnies), The Jolly Rogers was founded by Roscoe in the mid 80s. The group's name probably comes from The Jolly Roger, the English name for the old pirate flag. The group seems to have dissolved in the early summer of 1985. In 1986, Peter Kreuzer described theTJR's work in his Graffiti Lexikon as “very noteworthy pieces sprayed”. (Peter Kreuzer, Das Graffiti Lexikon, 1986)
JUKEBOX COWBOYS
Established by illustrator and graffiti writer Flying Förtress, the graffiti collective, which was founded in 2010 in Munich and Hamburg, is made up of some of the most innovative players of the German and European artists. Their focus is on both the graphic and colour development of lettering, including a combination with characters and comic elements. In the short time they have been working together, they have succeeded in developing their own visual imagery, in which the focus is not on the creative impact of an individual concept, but rather a representative overall one, as well as the constant further development and innovation of their own approach.
